The Castle Rock and Parker RE/MAX Alliance offices were proud co-sponsors of the Helping Hands Project in 2008. Created by the Douglas Elbert Realtor Association (DERA), the Helping Hands Project is dedicated to helping those in need within the community with home improvement projects to better a family’s quality of life.

Helping Hands supports the elderly, the young, the disabled, the economically challenged, and those with unexpected life events and adversity. RE/MAX Alliance was a Gold Sponsor for the project, and several Alliance agents served as committee members and volunteers.

Committee Members from RE/MAX Alliance included Sandy Anderson, Diana Hutton, Cyndi Jalonski, and Lin Miklas. Volunteers included Sharon Anderson, Casey Bustin, Lori Kinney, Lin Miklas, Kay Moen, Jan Reinhardt (managing broker for RE/MAX Alliance in Castle Rock and Parker), Diane Ward, and Kathie Zahorik. Broker associate Nancy Lillrose from the Parker office was a Bronze Sponsor.

Helping Hands provided help for two recipient families in 2008. In Franktown, one family’s home could not be completed when the husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He subsequently passed away two weeks before Helping Hands completed the work, which entailed carpet repair, new and refinished doors, tile work, landscaping and clean up, electrical work, painting and finished carpentry work throughout the home.

In Castle Rock, a recipient suffered a stroke and was not able to complete the landscaping in his backyard. Total renovation was done in the yard, including new rubber edging to protect his dog, a new sprinkler system, new sod, new patio, the addition of stairs from the house to the back yard, and a dog run.
